DIVORCE & CHILD CUSTODY MEDIATION
Getting a divorce through the court system involves couples often spending years of expensive time in court getting more frustrated, anxious, and desperate as time goes on.
Getting divorced does NOT mean resigning yourself to this fate for the foreseeable future!
Mediation is future-focused. This is a vital benefit when it comes to dealing with issues surrounding children involved in a divorce. Effective co-parenting relies on the ability to continue to communicate. Mediation helps preserve the relationship and make this possible.
Unlike a judge in a courtroom, a mediator is not there to make decisions for the parties. The Mediator’s role is to assist the parties in coming to resolutions that work for each of them. Also, unlike attorneys, mediators do not take sides between the parties. They are there to assist both individuals mutually by maintaining a neutral stance.
The Mediator ensures that both sides have an equal opportunity to address their concerns so that the negotiation does not become one-sided.
